Who's the Boss?

We are still working on our bed time routine with Little Lowell. He has never been one to fall asleep in his crib or now his bed.  As of now we have reached a compromise where he grabs a pillow and lies down on the couch around 8:00 and announces it is night time.  He usually falls asleep in about ten minutes after he talks himself to sleep and we take him upstairs to his bed.

This evening as he was trying to fall asleep our dog Riley let out a bark.  Before I could scold the dog, and with his head still on the pillow, Little Lowell yelled out " Stop it, I'm sleeping!"  It took all I had in me to not burst out laughing, but I did not want to be the next one who got admonished by a 21 month old.
